Two blends 100% Arabica by the coffee company from Palermo received gold medals for the Italian Espresso category at the International Coffee Tasting, the world renown competition organized by the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC)

Palermo, December 4th – Two Arabica blends, one of which produced by organic farming, by the Morettino coffee company from Palermo were awarded with the highest achievement at the International Coffee Tasting, a prestigious competition among the best coffee producers in the world, organized by the International Institute of Coffee Tasters (IIAC) in Milan.

The blend “Terrae” won in the category “Italian Espresso”, a blend with pure organic Arabica origins from Peru Chanchamayo, Brazil Alta Mogiana and Mexico Berilo, with hints of spices and floral honey notes. A blend that’s part of the Pure Organic Coffee line, organic coffees created from the collaboration between the small coffee growers from the countries of origin, toasted using a slow and eco-friendly process as per the Morettino tradition.

The “Reserve 100% Arabica” also received a gold medal in the category “Italian Espresso”, a blend of refined Arabicas dedicated to the founder Angelo Morettino, in which the floral honey notes and white flowers typical of the Central American origins meet the hints of fresh butter and walnut from Colombia Supremo, enriched by the spicy tones from Ethiopia Sidamo.

Yet another award for Morettino since the creation of the international contest.

“A medal that is a testimony of our natural predisposition for quality and confirms our constant commitment to research and development – according to Andrea Morettino – and allows us to reach the niche markets that are more evolved and demanding for quality worldwide”.

A recognition that confirms the excellence of a historic Sicilian brand that continues to pass on proudly the knowledge of the slow and artisanal manufacturing process, an added value in an extremely competitive coffee market, dominated by international giants now more than ever.
